Morning Routines That Stick: How Coffee, Running, and Reflection Fuel My Day

Mornings are my favorite part of the day. It’s the only time when the house is quiet, the chaos hasn’t started yet, and I can focus on myself. Over the years, I’ve fine-tuned a morning routine that works for me, and it’s become the anchor that keeps me grounded.

Here’s what my typical morning looks like:

  1. Coffee First: But FIRST… coffee. I take a few moments to enjoy it and mentally prepare for the day.

  2. Movement: Whether it’s a quick run or stretching, moving my body sets a positive tone for the day. It’s not about perfection—it’s about showing up.

  3. Reflection: Journaling or jotting down my intentions for the day keeps me focused on what matters most.

  4. Family Prep: By the time the kids are awake, I’m already centered and ready to tackle whatever the day throws at us.

This routine didn’t happen overnight, and it’s far from perfect. Some days, I’m dragging myself out of bed. But what keeps me going is knowing how much better I feel when I stick to it. If you’re looking to start your own morning routine, my advice is simple: start small and stay consistent. Even 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference.
